Banana Bread Oats

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/4 cup steel cut oats

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1-2 tsp honey

  • cinnamon, to taste

  • 1/4 cup crushed walnuts

  • 1 serving collagen powder, optional


add water and milk to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. once boiling, Add the oats, stir, and reducing heat to medium low. Allow to simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While the oats cook, mash your banana in a bowl, stirring in the honey and cinnamon; set aside.

When the oats are done cooking, pour them over your banana mixture (add the collagen powder here, if using). Stir to combine and top with crushed walnuts.

*You could also make this recipe with rolled oats. They are faster, but steel cut oats have a lower glycemic index and higher fiber content!
